My father, employed by Philips
Electrical Industries, was working in Melbourne when
our precious Collie, Princess, died. A fellow
workmate, Ken Dobson, was breeding and exhibiting
Pembroke Welsh Corgis. Mum and Dad bought a young
bitch Elizron Tanya from Mr. Dobson and bought her
home as a surprise for we girls.
Tanya was transferred into the
joint ownership of my older sisters, Elaine and
Denise who registered the Tryfan prefix. Eventually
Tanya was bred to Ivor Snaith’s import, Champion
Lees Kettledrum. This litter produced a pretty
bitch Bethan, whom I handled for my sisters. We had
a lot of fun showing Bethan, and I was well and
truly bitten by the show bug. Tanya had a second
litter but none were shown. These were the only
litters bred under the Tryfan prefix.
