Ciara was the smallest of our ‘C’ O’Casey babies
and was a stayer right from the start. She was
determined to keep up with her remaining
siblings, and while it took a year or so, she
has now bodied up beautifully.
Her puppy-hood was spent with our daughter &
son-in-law, Natasha and Chris. The love that
they lavished on our little one is evident when
she spends time with them.
Ciara was quick to welcome
Peter’s little Border Terrier and threw herself
into the job as Shirley’s nanny with great
enthusiasm. She endured, and still does,
Shirley’s notion of a great game, to the
detriment of ear feathering! She is Shirley’s
favourite living tug-a-long toy!
This job training was in good
stead as Ciara tended Natasha and Chris’s young
sons Riley and Henry. So gentle and loving – a
joy to watch.

Ciara waited patiently in the
wings while her siblings Grand Champion Tirriki
Ciaran O’Casey CCD CD JD & Grand Champion
Tirriki Carragh O’Casey quietly went about
becoming the two most awarded Australian bred
IWS.
Ciara has a correctly shaped
body piece with deep loin & a short broad back,
ribbing carried well back. She has been blessed
with rich dark pigmentation & expressive dark
eyes, so very important in the expression of an
Irish Water Spaniel.
With these credentials in
hand, in 2005 it was Ciara’s turn to step into
the ring. Her points were gained with ease, as
she joined her siblings with the status of
Champion, Best of Breeds taken over her seniors
along the way.
Ciara’s next triumph for the
year was producing a beautiful litter – our
Tirriki ‘S’ O’Caseys - and what a joy they are
to the families with whom they share their
lives. Ciara reinforces the fact that QUALITY
indeed produces QUALITY.

pre-showing preparation and training of Ciara.
